Honda 1981 CM400E CM 400 E Exhaust System Header Head Pipe Crossover Muffler #97
Thanks for stopping by Xylo's Parts Etc! Offered for sale here is a very good and clean condition Honda Original Equipment (OEM) Complete Exhaust System that was removed from a running/riding 1981 CM400E. There was 16,476 miles showing on the odometer when this motorcycle was disassembled.
As shown in one of the pictures, there is a repair to one of the mufflers near the inlet side of the muffler. However, on the inside of this same muffler at the point of repair, there appears to be no damage.
This system sounded good, as in a mellow OEM/Stock muffler sound when the engine was running. Also as shown in the pictures, the mid-section "Pre-Muffler" has several noticeable dents on the bottom side and there is a crack on the outlet side where one of the mufflers attaches. The muffler actually slides in beyond this crack and the pipe clamp seems to close up this area when fully installed on the bike. Cosmetically, there are some minor scuffs, scratches and age appropriate patina on this part. This part is ready to install and go ride! Please note: There are simply too many part number involved with this exhaust system to provide a truly comprehensive and/or accurate list of possible "fitments".This system may fit on a variety of late seventies CB400 Hawk 1 & 2 models, along with the CM400 A C E T models and possibly the 1985 Honda CB450SC Nighthawk. We know it was removed from a 1981 CM400E and will definitely fit that bike! We humbly request that you take some time to closely review all of the pictures as they are significant part of the description.
